Weight Loss With Yoga

With regular, dedicated practice of Sivananda Yoga and ballet, I have lost 10kg (52kg to 42kg) over 3 years.

Current weight is around 43.5kg, 96 lbs.

Need to get back to my regular practice!

Current goal weight for height (158cm): 38.5 kg, 85 lbs.

Both quantity and quality are important in proper diet. Math is most important. Output must be greater than input for weight loss to occur. (eat little). I cannot emphasize this point enough. 

In the input you must have all the vitamins, minerals, etc. that you need. (varied diet).

Certain types of food are better for certain activities. (whether you need a lot of energy immediately, eg. fats, oil, nuts, chocolates; a lot of energy in a short while eg. fried chicken)

Regular practice helps maintain your weight loss, and lets your body adapt to your new lighter mass.

Adrenaline and endorphins are amazing.

Caffeine and sugar are substitutes but with possibly disastrous effects if not used properly.

We need most of all
1. Air
2. Water

In this day and age, most people eat too much.

To reduce excessive eating, practice mindfulness and meditation.

Fasting is the best cure to most ailments. Practice proper breathing, and drink water.

Inhale deeply, retain, and exhale a slow and measured breath.

Inversions help. (Headstand, shoulderstand, handstand)

I love genmaicha :)

Made genmaicha latte :) Super love it!

Boil milk with brown sugar (1 tsp for a mug), then steep a packet of genmaicha in it. Simple and delicious!

made my own honey lime juice!

juice of 4 small limes

New recipes I've recently tried

After this most recent trip to India, I've been on a lime+salt streak.

1. I love lime juice + salt!
2. I love fruit juice with lime+salt!
3. I love chaach/chaas with lime+salt!
4. I like corn rubbed with lime+salt. +chaat masala :)
5. Fresh cucumbers and tomatoes with lime+salt.

Grilled eggplant/brinjal slices with salt is yummy.
Fried potato slices with tomato slices + salt. #vjiayandtara's latest creation. We call it the potato-tomato.

 Made guacamole again, from, with less salt (1/2). Would recommend halving the amount of onions too.

Buttered toast with cream cheese & sliced apple.

Cleared all events and classes from the calendar. Everyone and everything has to constantly re-audition to stay in (my/your) life. Just because they were there in the past doesn't mean they will or should be there in the future. This way, you get (the best of/to stay in) the present.
